About Eric
Eric Ulbrich is a Director / Cinematographer specializing in cinematic realism who leans on his natural curiosity about humanity to create story through images. Born in the mountains of Utah, his first experience behind the camera was capturing the beauty of his surroundings through landscape photography. At the age of 16, Eric’s first job in the film industry was cleaning cable and power washing generators for a rental house in Salt Lake City. From there, he worked his way up through the electric department to finally become a gaffer and, ultimately, a cinematographer and director.
Eric has created commercial imagery for clients such as Toyota, Under Armour, Nike, Uber, Ford, and Cadillac. He has lensed music videos for bands such as Incubus and Diplo and has shot A-list talent including Dwayne Johnson, Emma Stone, and Zoë Bell. His narrative work has screened at festivals worldwide, including LA Shorts, Fantasia, and Indy Shorts.
With a natural aptitude for harmonizing storytelling with technology, Eric has pioneered speciality drone movement for the film Greyhound and the series Mosquito Coast, and has created specialized visual effects imagery for San Andreas and Rampage. He is also currently a cinematography consultant for SpaceX.
